The conduct towards which members of The Australian Violin Makers Association Inc. shall strive is outlined in the following general ethical principles.

The members of the AVMA shall maintain universally high technical standards and strive constantly to improve their competence and the quality of their services.
2. Responsibility to Cultural Heritage
The members of the AVMA shall be governed by respect for the physical, historic, aesthetic and cultural integrity of the objects in their care.
3. Responsibility to Clients
The members of the AVMA will be fair and candid with their clients and serve them to the best of their ability. They will strive to maintain objectivity and integrity in all matters under review.
4. Responsibility to Colleagues
The members of the AVMA shall conduct themselves in a manner which will encourage co-operation and good relations among members of the profession.
5. Responsibility to the Profession
The members of the AVMA shall conduct themselves in a manner which will enhance the stature and respect of the profession and its ability to serve the musical community and the general public.
